Just ask yourself why you feel the need to be continually emotionally tortured by this man?

Your girlfriend is right - he is playing with you because you are good for his ego. You need to put yourself at number one and put this man in your past and move on. Muslim men are taught from a very early age that they are superior to women and that women are answerable to them. Whilst this behaviour may be accepted in the middle east, it is not acceptable in our western society.

PS - Not all Egyptian men have this characteristic.
