Answer to Dorothy

It is extremely naive to believe that the United States can wean itself off oil. From the time Henry Ford's autos began to be produced by assembly line for the masses, oil has literally fueled the economy. Do you drive a car, Dorothy? If you think we should change our energy requirement to omit oil, you should be a good example to the rest of us. Rather than espousing some Chatty Cathy slogan about oil, we would be better off drilling where we have oil, rather than importing it. There has not been a refinery built in over 25 years. There are no nuclear plants currently under construction. Why? Because do-gooders with tiresome slogans think if they "feel" strongly about something that it will come to pass.

Tell your senators and representatives to stop catering to the greenies and drill where we have oil. No more talk about how pristine the Alaskan fields are. Put up or shut up. Sophomoric platitudes are no help to anyone.
