Visit Visa!!

Luigi, if i send a egyptian man friend a invitation to come and have a holiday here in the uk, for say one month, he is in Abu Dhabi ok. If the visit visa is allowed, and at the last miniute he decides not to come, what happens with that visa? Am i still responsible? can he use that visit visa at another time, or does it expire? Does a visit visa allow him to travel to any european country, or just uk?

I am curious, because i think that he just wants the stamp in his passport, to use another time, somewhere else, or to go to someone else? I am just guessing, and i have bad feeling. Because i dont understand the visa laws, i just wanted to know, where i stand with responsibilitie, and and what he can do with it , once he gets it, if he decides not to come to the uk, can he use it anywhere else, or will it be void???
