What makes you think they are reading, or care about what they actually read?

The point for leftists and islamists is to denigrate and intimidate.

I can's see what reading has to do with it, except perhaps to prime the smear engine with a few words taken from the outside world as a point of reference.

If these were people that dealt in rational meanings they wouldn't be leftists and islamists to begin with.

It's all about power and dominance. Little else is involved, except perhaps access to money.

Thought is not a big part of the picture.
