Reader comment on item: Ban the Burqa - and the Niqab Too

I quite agree that the burqa is one of the most offensive and potentially dangerous garments. The French UMP députés are deciding at the moment whether to ban it in France. An article in Le Figaro describes the arguments, but comments by readers are unanimous. Ban the burqa, and ban it now.

I don't know why politicians are so feeble. If they are supposed to represent the people, they should listen to people's fears, not just pooh-pooh them as irrelevent and then appease minorities. We all know where appeasement leads to - power-grabbing.
