The only real solution

Reader comment on item: One Cheer for Obama's Arab-Israeli Policy
in response to reader comment: Arab states will never agree to negotiate with Israel.

It should be obvious to every one here that there will be no peace until the back of Islamic imperialism is finally broken. As it was with Imperial Japan at the end of WW2 so must it be with Islam. The only difference here is that Islam is an ideology and not a national identity and it is the ideology which must be defeated. This is an entirely different plain of warfare. This is war on the spiritual plain purely. The only way to view this war is as a Holy War, IE. Jihad. The west must make its own JIHAD against the forces of Islam. There is no other way to view it.

Unfortunately, I do not think the west is prepared even to understand or to prosecute such a war. For far too long the west has been entirely too preoccupied with materialsm and the idea that money is the whole measure of value. Material wealth and material possesions are the major preoccupation of most of the worlds nations. Territory, natural resources and cheap labor seem to be the only things men consider in their pursuit of some vaporous idea of proffit. Jeshua once asked;" What does it proffit a man to gain the world and lose his soul?" This is a question we must ask ourselves continually. Is there no other measure than expediency?

DesCartes once said;"I think therefore I am." But that was only half the picture. The other half is ;"I percieve therefore I shall become." For far too many years men have wandered in the world seeing only half the picture. The only time some margine of dim awareness has appeared is in the face of some great disaster. The potential for that disaster stands before us now in this moment and we stand in dumb confusion clinging to outmoded notions and illusions of utopia while a sword of Damocles hangs over our collective heads ready to drop. There is a choice before us. We have come to a fork in the road and we must choose which path to follow. One path leads to a greater life and a wonderful future and the orher path leads us to oblivion. Life is a matter of choices. Choose wisely and live well. Choose otherwise and OH WELL??? Better luck next incarnation.
