the parting of the Red Sea was a supernatural act of the Lord GOD of Israel. This was directly after Pharoah finally let go of his pride...after the plagues his people suffered all the way through the original passover, when the wrath of GOD passed over the homes of the Israelites who had sacrificed the lambs and put the blood on their door frames. The whole point of all this was to teach the Israelites to obey the Lord. But they would wander forty years in the desert because of their disobedience.
