During World War II, the repugnancy of the evacuation of Japanese Americans and Canadians into camps, along with the confiscation of their property, has left a residual that echoes today.

Perhaps that is why no one gives any thought, or at least communicates any thought in the media, as to the problem we now appear to face. A fifth column, exactly what we so desperately feared and protected ourselves from 60 plus years ago, seems to be well established in North America. However, we are, or at least a large portion of our society is, so concerned with individual rights, so set against profiling, that we are, Hamlet-like- unable to determine a course of action and undertake it.

While the government looks eastward to fight terrorism, it seems that the seeds for it are being planted and nourished right here, right now.

Assuming that I'm not paranoid, surely then I can't have been the only one to consider it.
