But even today, as Ashcroft announces the indictments of some Muslim charities, he says, "To those who exploit good hearts to secretly fund violence and murder, this prosecution sends a clear message..."
Once again, and in spite of the 9/11 Commission report, a government body leaves Muslims, as a whole, out of this equation.
General Sherman understood that armies are supported financially, as well as morally, by civilians. The "terrorists" are merely Muslim militias on the global offensive, and they too receive the moral and financial support from civilians hostile to non-Islamic nations and cultures. But since they use asymmetrical guerrilla tactics as the weapon of choice, and because we had years of politically correct conditioning and misinformation from Islamic groups, lobbyists, and intellectuals, you get a government lost in Plato's Cave.
The 9/11 commission report is a good start and I hope it will be effective in leading our Government away from their illusions of Cold War reruns, and small groups of fanatical bin Laden bandits.
