Hi to you- firstly i am wondering about the age difference- are you similar ages? When you spent time with him you must have had the Orfi - which is neccessary to be able to spend time with your Egyptian friend? You talked about his family, has he older brothers? - Uusually the men are required to marry Egyptian women to have children and carry on family name, this is a requirement. Saying that, there are many young men now following the western influences, and do not want to marry Egyptian wife, but this infact does cause a rift in the family unit.
You converting is a major step, not just for yourself, but if you bear children yourself. They will have to be brought up the muslim way. You need to research islam and islam marriages , you dont really know the implications.

Also you need to ask yourself if you would be happy as 2nd wife? Muslims are allowed four, whilst you are only allowed to marry 1 muslim man if you convert., this is a very big decision please think about it.
Whilst it is all a wonderful time spent together this in fact does fade as it requires a very strong head, strong heart , time and money.
