Debanjan: I am genuinely sorry that you are offended, but history is quite clear over 1400 years that "we can't all just get along" when Moslems are involved. Your feelings are hurt, but my freedom and security are constantly and consistently over centuries harmed by Moslems. As I said in a previous e-mail, I consider (born) Moslems the victims of circumstance and of God's (to me) inexplicable passivity when a demonic false monotheism got started 1400 years ago in Arabia.

In my tireless survey of the human condition, just this morning I came across these translations from Arabic on the MEMRI.org website (an excellent source of translations). Note that even Arab Moslems can see that Arab Moslems are ruthlessly abusing Palestinians (and the Palestinians are cooperating in their own oppression.) MEMRI: – "Stop Treating the Palestinians Like A Plague" (CHECK THE SITE IF YOU THINK I'M LYING) – "The Arabs Have Turned the Palestinians Into a People Defeated Both Morally and Materially" (Here Daniel and the Arabs agree. I disagree -- the Palestinians are alas not defeated) – Daoud Al-Shiryan, Al-Hayat columnist and deputy secretary-general of Al-Arabiya TV reported as stating regarding Arab countries: —

"These countries must stop treating the Palestinians like a plague, using slogans which, as we all know, have become nothing but empty utterances in a loathsome struggle. We must break the isolation of the Palestinians in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. A Palestinian should be made to feel like a welcome and dear guest - before some external intervention comes along and grants him the right to live in dignity, to everyone's consternation."

(This is a very telling quote by an Arab Moslem -- it states an obvious point, but it is good to see it on the lips of an Arab Moslem.) Islam is the most powerful threat to human freedom in history because of its dynamism and durability. If it were a political ideology it would be both less durable and easier to address openly. Because it is a religion, it has enormous durability (human history shows that about most religions) AND we in the West can't get our heads around excluding its adherents as a threat.
