One disillusioned AmericanReader comment on item: Limping away from a Shattered Iraq Submitted by Kathy (United States), Jul 17, 2009 at 13:38 I recognize that the U.S. is not infallible, and not all of our actions and decisions have been right. At the same time I am somewhat bitter when everything we do - including the "right" things - are spat upon by the very people who accept our help whenever they run into difficulties. I would like to tell other nations to fix their own problems without our help (without our money or military). I would also like to withdraw from the United Nations and let them find funding elsewhere. In addition, I'd like to tell our current president that I dislike his politics as much as I dislike the gutless people who fawn over him in return for his favors. Right or wrong, I am becoming an isolationist who has emotionally divorced my own country's leadership.
