The Eastern front is BackReader comment on item: Limping away from a Shattered Iraq Submitted by yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), Jul 15, 2009 at 15:50 For 7 years Israel considered the Eastern front, the one facing Jordan and Syria, to be safe, relatively speaking. US presence in iraq was supposed to assure that no major armed force could coalesce, approach israel via Jordan, and be arrayed against Israel along the jordan valley and the hilltops controlled by fatah-hamas. Now that the US is limping away, the eastern Front is back, with a vengeance. The question is not if, but when the Jordanian monarchy will buckle, and accept "friendly" forces entering from the east to confront the common enemy, the jewish renegade Dhmmi State. Eighty million Shiites of Persia and Iraq can muster a goodly menace. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
