Perhaps it's pressure

What Dr. Pipes doesn't mention as a possibility of Israel's heads-of-state's about faces is the behind-the-scenes pressure put on Israel by its greatest ally-The United States. What is a Prime Minister to say if the US comes and says, for example, it's the acceptance of the PLO or major cutbacks in funding?
