Glad to know we're so important....Reader comment on item: Conspiracy Theories in Iran's Unrest Submitted by Shaun Pilkington (United Kingdom), Jun 29, 2009 at 06:09 As I sit here, on the South coast of England, watching the news of our inept Prime Minister's umpteenth relaunch, based this time, on massive and unsustainable borrowing while underfunding our armed forces and undermining our broadcasters, I find it remarkably twee that people could seriously think we'd be capable of removing a foreign government on our own. Hell, in the 1951-53 period where we actually DID remove an elected Iranian leader and replaced him with a despotic, but pro Western, Shah, we needed the CIA to help. Good grief - we can't run a bath anymore let alone a foreign revolution! Now, which way does this tap turn?
