There Is a "Palestinian State"Reader comment on item: Avigdor Lieberman's Brilliant Debut Submitted by Art Victor (United States), Apr 24, 2009 at 16:00 Largely, the problem is one of semantics.-"Palestinian" the Arabs of the mandate area did NOT think of themselves as a 'nation' until Y. Atrafat came along and adopted 'Zionist" rhetoric. When the British carved up the mandated territory, 78% was ceded to a brand-new entity called Trans-Jordan. The new State called Israel was to be ceded 1/2 of the remaining territory. of "Palestine' As Golda said,-"Israelis are Palestinians too". -A modest proposal: That Jordan be called 'Geater Palestine, and any 'Palestinian" autonimous territory be called 'Palestine Minor" or 'New Canaan" or such. And will someone please explain to me the difference between 'autonomous territory" and "semi-autonomous territory. The autonomous territory of the "West Bank' should be Federated with Jordan, and Gaza with Egypt, as before.
