Death threats - real or empty ?

Reader comment on item: The Deceits of Bridges TV

I would very much like to know if death threats made by muslims are real or just a dog barking. How can one tell when the threat might be real ( ie under what circumstances ) ? Would a man who's lost a divorce case and is unable to complete another marriage ( probably arranged by families) be bringing dishonor to the family if he does not kill his first inconvenient wife ( now that this wife is no longer useful for a visa and money) ? And would strict muslims consider killing in this case ?

And, secondly, how far does their reach extend ? Is the brotherhood ( islamic mafioso) very connected globally ?

My reason for asking - my husband ( he lives in middle east and not allowed to enter Canada but lives in a mafia-controlled part of his city ) has made death threats against me and my life wouldn't be worth much if i were still there because he wants a divorce to marry his illegal wife and make her legal. I worry sometimes that he could connect with people here in my country and i'd have an "accident".
