Islam, a house with no exit!

Elsewhere in this site, under the same title it is pointed out that Islam is like a building without exit. Any muslim who wants to become apostate does so at the risk of his life. The punishment in Sharia for apostasy is death. This answers only one part of the numerical strength of Islam. Followers are kept under the umbrella of Islam by threat to life.

The other aspect is the growth of Muslim population. No doubt, mostly, this happens by incresed birth rate amongst Muslims. But, none of this will indicate the popularity of Islam as a religion. The unanswred question remains how many gronw ups and knowledgeable people who can think for think themsleves in these matters consciously opt for Islam? Barring a childish personality like Michael Jackson, few would opt for such closed door ideology.
