I think that we should try to revert the current trends of UnEnlightment in America and the world.For some reasons taht are not clear to this writer America and the rest of the world except some European countries has been erasing secular culture and replacing it by miracle absed religions..America has a great tradition in freethinking and humanism but if the current terrible religious trend continues we will become a country modelled on Islamic republics with the religious police.

I may be exaggerating a bit to make a point but I feel that the world full of religious fanatics equipped with nuclear weapons is very dangerous. Religious fanaticism fuels the worst human killer instincts. The obvious proof is the Middle East, Ireland, former Yugoslavia and of course 9/11 in US.The media instead oof glorifying religions should show how religions harm humanity by replacing reason with the blind unsupported faith in miracles .This includes the three major Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam .

It will take a long time to weaken or eradicate these archaic and barabaric faths but media dshould help to expose the negative impact of religions on the human morality and peaceful coexistence. UN is discussing a proposal for protecting religions from criticism. The opposite should be discussed ;how to expose religious barabrism to all humanity so we can reverse the UnEnlightment trends and in the fututre deserve to be called civilizrded . Now our cultures are the cultures of barabarians with cell phones and computers. These two gadgets among other technological inventions make us slightly different than the bronze age barabrians who invented God. hell, heaven, sin and the rest of the terrible shamanism that persists till today.
