Your point is not true. Before being annointed Prophet, Muhammad worked for a successful and desirable businesswoman named Khadija, who actually proposed to him. She was also married twice before. There were female poets as well. In fact Abu Sufian's daughter Hind participated in war with Quraish against the Prophet.

The story of Antra Ibn Shadad also nullifies your point. Antra traveled long distance and risked death to gather Abla's dowry. Antra the son of a black slave woman was fathered by Abla's uncle Shadad. Abla chose Antra over other rich and noble Arab men.
