Reader comment on item: The Deceits of Bridges TV

Submitted by reeves (United States), Feb 25, 2009 at 18:17

It seems in the next to last paragraph where the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the National Organization for Women (NOW) are speaking their piece on this monstrous crime, that they appear to have their wires crossed. One would think the ISNA would be opting for "honor killing" in this case, whereas NOW would be going for tne "domestic violence" angle. Or have I been reading the histories of these two organizations wrongly over the years?

If so, is there any wonder we as a nation are confused as to how to handle this obvious, outrageous murder? Is there really room for discussion here? Does this mean if my wife gets out of line, and I "do her in," I not only have NOW's blessing, but I can tie up our courts for months while they try to figure out who's at fault? Do we now all get to make a list of those who have tread to the "wrong" House of Worship and take our revenge?

Have we all gone insane?
