Moderate Muslims, where are you hiding?Reader comment on item: Moderate Muslims March in Phoenix Submitted by Joe Mittelman (United States), May 8, 2004 at 19:56 Why was there such a poor turnout at the "Rally against Terror". Is it that all Muslims are Islamists under the skin and only Terrorists make their feelings publicly known? Or, perhaps that the Moderates fear being pointed out as such by hard liners.Or, is it that the Islamic belief that the religion and government are indelibly entwined and therefore when they are born into the faith, or adapt it as their own, that they then truly can no longer abide a government, any government, that is secular in nature? The koran teaches their way, and if they believe in their religion, must they then reject our government?
