Saleh as Leader in Iraq...and the prisoner scandal

The recent letter about Saleh's qualifications to run Iraq would have been encouraging a week ago. Now we have this prisoner scandal.

I cannot imagine that anything the US says in Middle East will be taken seriously by anyone, especially a recommendation on who should run Iraq. Anything the US offers will now, by definition, be wrong.

I hope the newsletter will comment soon on the prisoner scandal, especially in terms of long term damage to the US, not just in Iraq but around the world.

In case anyone missed it, we just lost the war.
