Mostly we preefer a watered down sweetened and hydrolyzed version of the truth. Reality is that Israeli generals were hand-picked for loyalty to the Political system, just like Communist generals, or editors for the New York Times. Its a club, and you do not get accepted to the club if you do not sign on to the Club bylaws. The occasional general lied, signed on and reneged. They are quickly dispatched into no man's land.
