Today's Coronation
Reader comment on item: Reflections on Obama's Inauguration

Submitted by Nosharia (United States), Jan 20, 2009 at 21:28

I am temping in an office in NYC. I had no intention of watching or listening to the coronation today, but all the other people in the office are Obama supporters who literaly reveled in the events they were watching on CNN. My frustration with the god-like worship was as intense as their jubilation. The whole experience felt surreal.

I know many conservatives share my dismay and fear. In fact, witnessing the fanaticism in DC today engendered even more fear in me. I was reminded of the Nazi rallies inspired by Hitler where the crowds were in a hypnotic trance. No doubt Obama is Hitler's equal in narcissism. Hopefully he will not be his equal in ruination.
