in response to reader comment: Fresh Thinking is Needed

This seems well thought out and a product of one informed and quite enlightened. And I won't be rude and say "It's the religion, ...," as there is much to be worked with here. What I see is not understanding the history of Islam. For example, let's go to Good Man Vic Rubenstein's blog of this ilk, at http://www.bigpicweblog.com/exp/index.php/weblog/comments/reasons_for_the_crusades I submit, that if you ask the man on the street in America about the Crusades, he will tell you that the Muslims are the victims. Please read through the chronology presented with regard to the Crusades and reach your conclusion.

... Yes, I know that is not Politically Correct. Now, let us go to http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/32812 And now let's go to http://www.greecetravel.com/smyrna/ Read this and find out how the Islamics killed 150,000 to 200,000 Christians in Syrmna, Turkey in 1922, the culmination of a genocide that Islamics OF OVER ONE MILLION ARMENIANS LIVING UNDER DHIMMITUDE WITH THE ISLAMIC TURKS. This genocide that America or anyone else will not admit, pretend it never happened, and politically - correct America does not know about, will not see this on the CBS Evening News, The History Channel, or anywhere on TV, except Fox BECAUSE IT MIGHT OFFEND MUSLIMS. It is easy to discount, but let me explain this to you. I met Stella, at her Greek - owned restaurant, Friday night. She found out I was American, she saw my Flight Jacket (yes, I am a retired Naval Avaitor, and while in Navy, one cannot wear one's flight jacket, due to internecine problems with ones who do not have flight jackets while one is in uniform (a jealosy thing with the Black Shoe Navy, or ship drivers, who made aviators give up Brown Shoes, since that meant that one was an aviator ---- and they even got "Water Wings," out of jealosy, but seriously guys, we do love you, yes we do, and we are flattered by your jealosy).

Stella comes to my table, and talks to me about what I know about Greece, due to my flight jacket. SHE TELLS ME, WHICH I ALREADY KNEW, BUT HARDLY ANY AMERICANS KNOW, AS IT IS KEPT SECRET, HUSH HUSH, IT MIGHT OFFEND ISLAMICS, THAT THOSE 200 ISH THOUSAND CHRISTIANS IN SYMRNA TURKEY IN 1922 WERE MURDERED BY ISLAMICS IN THREE DAYS! And no one knows of this, BECAUSE IT MIGHT OFFEND MUSLIMS!

When she asks me about Kosovo, I tell her I know we bombed the wrong side (thanks, Dhimmicrats of Bill Clinton). Yes, stupid Bill Clinton thought that if America sided with the Muslims in Kosovo that they would abandon fourteen centuries of agression against the Unbeliever, just forget what the Quran tells them to do. Stupid. But I criticise others for intellectual indolence and bankruptcy, and I realise after talking to Stella that I had not done my homework. I was in Greece in 1974, and the years leading up to the Greek - Turk war over Cyrus, which I had also toured, I went there many many times. And all of a sudden, Americans were not safe in Greece, and so Navy ships quit going to Greece. Until Friday night, I dismissed this as "Everybody blames everything on America, they got into something with the Turks and it did not work out, and so they blamed America, so what else is new, welcome to being French, Greeks." This I believed until Friday night.

In 1974, I knew nothing of Islam, like Presbyterians, Methodists, same sort of folks, nothing of the four centruries of evil leading up to the first Crusade in 1099, I always had heard that the Islamics were the victims of the Crusades as they say that over and over and Americans, not knowing that they have been fed lies, think this as well. We Americans, and planet, simply are not aware of the fact that what happened in 1099 was the product of four centuries of Islamic slaughter, annihilation of now extinct civilizations (look again at the above www.bigpicweblog.org post on this, get your history down, enough indolence and lies).

What happened in Symrna, Turkey in 1922 was the final stage of annihilation of Christians in Asia Minor, and these were Stella's people, and she had tears in her eyes as she found that I was perhaps on of maybe less than one percent of Americans who understood this. And Macedonia no longer being Greek, but Islamic, and of Nixon and Kissinger, for once and maybe only once, not the Dhimmicratic party, selling them out. Oh, they said, Turkey is an ally, so let's sell out the Greeks, we are stupid and know nothing of Islam.

I finally realized, after all of these years, it was much more than a case of the abject blaming everything on America French thing, there was indeed a very dark thing here, America as an expedient of keeping Turkey as an "ally," and knowing nothing of Sura 9, the chapter of War Against the Unbeliever, and the final chapter of Muhammod, and meaning by Islam's theory of Abrogation, that when verses of the Quran have contradictions, the latter verse, that being the Verse of the Sword, Sura 9:5, supercede the earlier verses, I was myself Indolently Intellectually Bankrupt about Islam. Greece, she told me, is at the fracture line between Islam and the West, and, with the exception of Israel, who is surrounded by evil, she is correct. And not being melodramatic here, people, tears in her eyes, the evil of Islam.

So, you enlightened one, I will not speak badly of you, I simply ask you to look at the religion, as I fear there is something much darker here than the talk about oil, Muslims wanting to talk with the Israelis but not knowing how to, I fear that what is to come is not this enlightened evolution at all, but something very dark. The Clash of Civilizations of Samuel Huntington.
