Q for Mr Pipes and Mr Herz: Doesn't our Bible approve Polygamy?Reader comment on item: Westerners Welcome Harems Submitted by Morris Graham (United States), Dec 1, 2008 at 11:11 Mr Pipes wrote: "Monogamy, this ruling suggests, long a foundation of Western civilization, is silently eroding under the challenge of Islamic law. Should current trends continue, polygamy could soon be commonplace..." I thought the POLYGAMY was the commonplace of the Christian and Jewish (western) civilization. Didn't Abraham had 3 wives? And how about Prophet David? SO it was our Tradition in the past and we are the ones who moved away from our own traditions, not the Muslims. I belive they are holding the tradition. Aren't they? These aspects of the Bible, along with many others, such as slavery, have been discarded in the West for a while now. Comment on this item
