I understand your business. Sometimes I go a couple weeks without ever looking at the dumb thing and other times I hammer it for a few days. Life oscillates all over the place.
From what I can gather, most of your experience with Muslims is with those here in the U.S. except for a trip to the Middle East where you talked to a few mullahs/imams.
My sister lives in Bellevue in Washington State and has for about 40 to 45 years. Very early on, she met a man who was big with Boeing and had left Iran before she even knew him. She eventually met his extended family who were welcoming, warm, and accepting. She has held onto that community for a long time.
Her boyfriend chucked Islam before ever coming here which he did at some young age. His family has a lot of Muslims who kind of follow the same trail that a lot of Americanized Muslims have for decades. Wonderful people as long as they can live here outside the pressure of all northern Africa, Middle East, Pakistan through India, Indonesia and many other countries where Islam dominates politically. I mentioned Great Britain because I have been following the European trail of Islam for a long time.
Hundreds of thousands and, eventually, millions of Muslims have left their Islamic countries seeking work in virtually all European countries. A minor point is why so many have left Muslim nations awash with so much oil wealth? That would be because their leaders don't work at their Islamic faith and tow the Muslim line of spreading the wealth which they rarely do.
The Palestinian issue could have been over a long time ago if the Muslims of the Middle East had even a tenth of the giving nature of the worldwide Christain community. They instead keep hatred alive by arming the Palestinians, inflaming/fostering hatred for Jews, and little to nothing else.
I have focused on Great Britain because they are a pattern of the Islamic forces that are already at work here in the U.S. and Canada. Don't let anyone see any of Islamic history of the past. Shut it off and establish Sharia Law. Once you have accomplished that, the radicals step in and remind forcefully all of the so-called peaceful ones of the real Islam they follow. I know beyond any shadow of a doubt, as I watch Islam slowly spread here (and see the same pattern evolving), that I will see the same scenario play out here.
It is easy to be a Muslim here in the U.S. because we allow it. Muslims can live any life style they choose and give token allegiance to their god. I am watching that change gradually as the radical imams and mullahes come here and forcefully push the Sharia Law agenda. There have been numerous news articles over the past couple years showing where radical Islam is forcefully pushing. For all the "peaceful " ones who don't want the radicals, the silence out of them when the radicals push - 9/11, airliner blasted out of the skies over Lockerbie, Scotland, etc., etc., etc.. is absolutely deafening. All I ever see is is a few sacttered token "tsk, tsk, tsks", and then the usual silence.
I shouldn't have to point any of this out. The record of all Islam in just the past ten years speaks very loudly, not only of the forceful efforts of radical Islam which dominates all of Northern Africa and all the rest that I have mentioned here numerous times, but again and again, the deafenibg silence out of the "moderates" and "peaceful ones".
You say only a few. Baloney. It's a spreading pattern that I have followed closely for several decades.
The 1 billion members of Islam do the opposite of impressing me. Hundreds of millions of people in those countries are entrenched deeply in poverty. There is always much and lethal hatred amongst the dominated poor of this world. Islam offers the easy way out by giving them an outlet for pent up hatred and frustration. The outlet is one hundred and eighty degrees off the polar focus of Christianity which the Muslims persecute terribly wherever the highest proportion of the population is Muslim. That speaks to the vast majority of the massive numbers within Islamic countries.
So we temporarily have a "peaceful" Muslim population here in the U.S. up, ripe for the plucking and the radicals are already moving strongly. The ethic of Jesus the Christ is so incredibly opposite from the reality of Islam as the latter ACTS and CARRIES OUT their religion is so astonishing. The Christ said that, real ethics and adhering to truth, love, and forgiveness would have its price, and truly it does, wherever Islam ravages and persecutes them.
The one God that Islam fruitlessly seeks out plucks from amongst those who pay a price for following the ethics of God and then living them out. Islam is peaceful wherever it serves its purpose of slowly sneeking in the back door and then pouncing as it has in Great Britain and everywhere else it has gone and become the majority.
The minority Christains live hard and follow the Messiah's ethical teachings and then believe in the horrific price he himself paid to make payment of debt that every human has - sin. These are the MAJORITY of the Christains in this world now. The pathetic few here in the U.S. who have even a glancing truth of what the Lord taught, are easily the minority of what makes up the majority of true followers.
The majority in Islam, cowtow to the gun held to their heads. The minority that live here in this country represent what the majority of hollow Christains here do - living where religion of any kind is easily accomplished. Here we can buy into any claptrap religion we want and pay no price for ethical and moral lifestyle. We can all live as slob adherents to anything that is popular, lately fashionable (RE: Hollywood fashion Buddism/Zen), or that allows us to express the dirty side (witchcraft).
If you can't see the whole perspective that I lay out of living hard for the one God that says living righteously has a price freely chosen, then I guess that's a choice you have made. There are two major religions that claim belief in an ethical and loving God. Follow the trail of both and see which one is follows through with acting out its belief. The real Christain community lives and acts almost totally unknown to a world that buys news from institutional medias that only report what delivers profit. "Profit" caters to whatever is currently popular and in fashion. The reality of Islam is going to catch a huge number of very ignorant Christains and Muslims completely off guard.
Lately, Islam has had its fashionable following in our country as has Buddism and a somewhat of a spread of Hinduism which has literally hundreds of Gods that they slavishly sacrifice to and allows only the successful elite to attain any blessings from.
You say don't blame Muslims or God for what a minority of Muslims do. Sorry, actions or the lack thereof speak far louder for what constitutes the great majority of Islam. The vast majority of Muslims are either radical or silent and unapologetic for the radicals. Your claim as basic fact belongs to those who follow Jesus Christ . None of us brags of ourselves as we have no right. We brag only of the Christ who was the prophesied Messiah. Ishmael's illegitimate relationship to Abraham is just that, and has been covered up and re-written by Islam in a cheap imitation. Ishmael was a product man's once again rebellion of God's chosen to produce Abraham's promised son when, first Sarah, and then her husband bought into the lie that they could produce that son by their own interventional plan. That intervention was the product of Sarah's servant/maid/whatever, and not God's later follow through of his promise in the deliverance of Isaac who became the eventual seed of the prophesied and delivered Messiah of God - Jesus, the Christ.
The Lord and Creator of the universe was not American, an American institution, a white man, blond, or blue eyed. He was born in the Middle East and was a seed of God's chosen race which Islam has tried to mimic for 1400 - 1500 years. I tried to buy into atheism and God woke me up with a slap to my rear end - if you can read here what I'm saying. I make no grand or majestic claims for myself. I was as much an idiot and sinner as anyone born an Arab, European, African, Oriental, or any other race.
For anyone who sincerely has it in their heart to find God, you will come up with the one I mention.
