Parents Can't Possibly Be Blamed...Reader comment on item: The aftermath of attack in Gaza Submitted by Amjad Khan (United States), Jul 24, 2002 at 19:21 To suggest, as one reader has, that the parents of the Palestinian children are to blame for the deaths of their children is a most horrifying comment. Without taking sides on the Gaza attacks, I simply want to say that the parents can't be blamed in these attacks. How could they want their children (7 of the 9 dead children were under the age of 5!) to die in defense of Hamas leaders? Many of these parents spend their days simply trying to avoid gunfire and not let their children go hungry. We must not dehumanize them and place blame for blame's sake.
