Obama and the Former Soviet Union

Barack Obama and his wife Michelle both studied the Russian language in college as part of their interest in and admiration for the now defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the USSR, and now known as the Former Soviet Union. Indeed, Barack Obama actually met his to be wife in one of those Russian language classes.

While I realize that way back then, a lot of campus radicals at least expressed an admiration for Soviet and Red Chinese Communism, very few like the Obama's actually took Russian lessons to show their committment to that oppressive and destructive economic and governing system.
