Good article. Perhaps you didn't have sufficient space to mention that the remainder of the surviving Khadr clan, trapped in Pakistan since the firefights that killed off many of them has appealed to the Canadian government to bring them back to Canada.
The response from our Foreign Affairs Office?
One could only hope for a statement that the whole family lied and their Canadian citizenship and landed immigrant status had been revoked.
HA. Fat chance.
The latest statement from our government just boggloes the mind!! A spokeperson from FOREIGN AFFAIRS stated that now that Abdurahman had confessed on a recent documentary that the entire freakkin family WAS and IS Al Qaeda, all is basically forgiven and emergency passports are being issued so they can leave Pakistan and return "home." This includes the Karim who, as stated, is now in hospital with a severed spine due to his involvement in the firefight. The family lied about their associations with terrorists, actively trained and fought against our neighbors and allies and now we're going to bring the rest of the family home and provide Karim with 24 hour care for the rest of his life.
It's all enough to make me upchuck. Many Canadians are utterly applalled at the attitude our government has taken. Sadly, I suspect, the majority could care less.
