Based on Pipes reasoning, before any candidate for President of the United States can run for office that candicate needs to have a "security clearance" by the US government. If the person passes then then can run for President. Otherwise, we will always have doubts of the potential loyalty of the leader because of prior affiliations and acquaintances. But then again such a vetting may eliminate people of character and worth becoming the leader of this nation. Using Pipes guilt by assoication reasoning, Obama should not pass a security clearance and therefore not be allowed to see the confidnetial briefings for the President and those aids that have "security clearance."
Now that Obama is the President elect, Pipes better do more than associations and links to show that this educated lawyer, US Senator and now the person chosen by the majority of the USA to be its President is a risk to national security and be kept from office!
I am deeply disappointed in these articles by Daniel Pipes.
