Professor Pipes. For some time now you have exhibited a cuirous tunnel vision when it comes to the candidacy of Senator Obama. You have been nit-picking at the fringes of his candicacy. It is true that Obama represents a sea-change in American politics. It was and is predictable that his associations over the years would include people with ideas which don't fit the paradigm which Americans have come to expect in Presidential candidates. That is a strength, not a short-coming. Further, in each and every case Senator Obama has forcefully disassoicated himself from views held by some of these people which exhibited hatred against America and/or Israel.
Senator Obama will govern from the center both in Domestic and Foreign policy. He will be stronger in fact (albeit not in rhetoric) than President bush in the struggle agains Islamist Terrorism. He is far and away the most savvy and intelligent person to be President since Abraham Lincoln (another who was much maligned during his lifetime). He will be a strong friend of Israel and he will be such intelligently rather than just by mouthing slogans. Unless he is assasinated, Israelis will, in eight years, understand that he was the best Presient ever with regard to helping the Israel to survive and thrive,
