Although I believe that American foreign policy has been blundering into a Huntingtonian clash of civilizations since the last year of the Carter administration, and can give only two cheers for Bush II, I have to agree that Kerry is probably a September 10 person, and Bush THE September 12 candidate. Kerry's noises thus far suggest that we'd be going back to at best lobbing an ineffectual missile at a poorly identified target or at worst turning the other cheek when an embassy is bombed; and seeking a "negotiated settlement" with people who really want to tear our guts out. As for Nader, he's heading full speed ahead into the year 1976.
However, we shouldn't talk about Bin Laden's capture until there's genuine footage of an American, Afghan, or allied soldier pulling him out of his cave.. .
