Is security clearance not taken before nomination?

Reader comment on item: Obama Would Fail Security Clearance

Submitted by Kamekish (India), Oct 27, 2008 at 05:30

Sir,

I read your views with plenty of interest not only because it has substance and direction but it has the sense of urgency for future needs.

The heading of this article creates some daubt about USA election process. If you say that "Obama would fail security clearance" then when will he be cleared to become President of USA?

Earlier I had doubt but it is becoming clear that Obama will win this election. So now raising doubts at this level, create further confusion. He is winning election and going to White House. That part is clear and if that part is ok then we should talk that what is going to stop Obama and when?
