The Power of Fear

Reader comment on item: Obama Would Fail Security Clearance
in response to reader comment: Why Has He Been Able To Get Away With All This?

The reason that people are not overly concerned about Barak Obama's shady dealings with terrorists and such ilk, is because the Democrats have used the bad state of the economy and the lack of a national health insurance scheme to frighten some of the population into submission. They truly believe that Barak Obama is their saviour, that he will save this country and bring it back together in peace and harmony. That is a fairy tale.

Making unrealistic promises by promoting himself as such a miracle-maker is a very clever ploy to use fearmongering as a voting weapon; Obama hopes that people will forget his relationships with Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko and others by concentrating on the economy. Personally I think this whole economic scare is blown up out of proportion, and it is being used against John MaCain, as if he produced this so-called depression.

Many people are more afraid of losing their homes or not having health insurance than being afraid of the growing threat of radical Islam, and the connections that Barak Obama has to some rather suspect organizations. Unfortunately the balance has been tipped toward voting for a man who seems to have all the answers, but in reality will not be able to carry out all the promises he has made, and will make our country much more vulnerable to a terrorist attack again.
