Greetings Mr.Daniel Pipes; You don't know me but I have been receiving and monitoring some of your articles on the Barack Obama; topic concerning as to whether He is or is not of the Muslim faith.
I 've got to tell you that I recall sometime back when Mr. Obama first announced that He would run for candidate for President. I don't recall whether the national news said that He took his oath of office for the Senate, or for the running as a candidate for president, But in any case I specifically remember them stating that Mr. Obama insisted on using the Koran to take his oath on.
After reading all that is going on about whether Mr.Obama is or is not a practicing Muslim should not make much difference if He in fact already took His oath by the Koran, Instead of the Holy-Bible.
This I thought was very interesting to say the least. Let me know if I am wrong or at least what your thoughts are on this most important matter. I don't at all recall anyone in our U.S. Government ever in the history of the United States ever using another country's method of taking an oath to U.S. Office!.
Respectfully Rev. Tony Medina.

Daniel Pipes replies:
I think you are confusing Obama with Keith Ellison, who did very publicly take the oath of office on a Koran.
