Reader comment on item: The West's Islamist Infiltrators

I see that perhaps the most logical outcome for our societies as a whole is complete segregation. The arabs and muslims should stay in their lands and the westerners should stay in theirs. But there lies the problem, the US has strived so hard to implant its existence into the region either to ensure a steady supply of oil or to protect Israel, that a withdrawal from the area doesnot seem to be in the agenda.

You say that the muslim world should look at its failures and blame itself, then perhaps the US should stop supporting our corrupt governments that strive to steal our money and repress us to the extent that we migrate to your countries seeking an allegedly better way of living. Regarding other imperialistic countries that had occupied our countries, stolen our resources, held us back and then threw us away to corrupt regimes, I can only feel that the blame partly lies with them.

If all the oil in the region were to dry up, would be cease to be a concern anymore. Would the great powers shift elsewhere? I also would like to address the issue of polygamy, it is an extremely rare occurence in our islamic society and its ratio is somewhat similair to the mormen bunkers that are unfolding in the states. Does this mean that all christians support and encourage polygamy? Certainly not and this goes both ways.

Speaking about the infamously used story of the jews behind the rock saga, I would like to remind you that christians believe that when jesus returns he will force jews to convert to christianity otherwise face the consquences. These end of days depictions can be very misleading and can be misread depending on who is feeding it. I don't see jews blaming christians for that belief..

Finally, the US will never leave the region because of Israel and the only way the US can rest easy is if it creates peace with its neighbors. Perhaps a palestenian state living side by side with Israel, hopefully the two countries can ignore each other and the arabs can ignore Israel and we can each live out our seperate isolated lives. That is truly the middle east dream. Then with prosperity we wouldn't need to migrate outside our countries and you can create your new enemy , the chinese. Have fun, cause they won't be push overs!
