It is true that the politically correct backwater the UK has turned into is becoming difficult to navigate. Unfortunately, political correctness and nonsensical spin distorts facts and truths. It also prevents discussion from leading to enhanced understanding and truthfully reflecting the issues dealt with. The result of 'PC linguistics' renders it hopeless to express anything, and, if we don't put a stop to this sad trend, will change how we use our language in the future - namely with greater distortion and further misunderstandings. I do believe that it's unnecessary to take it to this extreme. That if people took language/linguistics seriously, and learned to express themselves properly, we wouldn't be in this appaling situation in Britain - or the USA.
