Reader comment on item: The Problem with Middle East Studies

After reading the article, I wanted to write to Sadowski and Halabi in order to hear an explanation for not responding to you but then I reread your article and saw that the whole story happened in the 1990's.

Is this really pertinent to today? Why wasn't all of this thrashed out then?
