DemocracyReader comment on item: Interview with Daniel Pipes Submitted by Monika Kaufmann (Germany), Jul 14, 2008 at 13:44 Dear Daniel Pipes, in your latest article you said that Islam and democracy are not incompatible. I cannot agree. Sharia is the most barbaric law ever invented in the history of mankind. The Koran is a fascist book; Geert Wilders is right when he likens it to Hitler's "My Struggle". I don't see any democratic countries with a Muslim population. In Turkey and Pakistan there is no freedom of speech which is apparently an essential part of democracy. As you said "Democracy is more than just elections." Best regards and hope to hear from you soon Yours Monika Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
