Hmm...Reader comment on item: [Samuel Huntington and] American Purposes In Iraq Submitted by Paul Gee (Australia), Jun 29, 2008 at 07:07 Jim, I respect your age and your experience in this arena but I think you miss a pivotal point. You say "We will probably spent $2-trillion in Iraq over the next ten-years and the Iraqi crowds will still be celebrating in the streeds whenever they see an American die." This is the downside of imperialism. Democracy and capitalism is all good and well, but is this a sign that they want it? Plus, do you think they're blind enough to think their oil is America's in return for the "good gesture"?
