Obama and McCain through the eyes of BushReader comment on item: Obama vs. McCain on the Middle East Submitted by Jay (United States), Jun 9, 2008 at 02:50 Dr. Pipies article is interesting when it asks how the two new candidates approach helping and supporting Israel. What the two candidates seem to have in common is that they both support a secure Israel. And I think they do. What I think is long overdue is for a sitting American President helping and supporting Israel, and helping and supporting future America Presidents. What a sitting American President needs to due to help the peace process the most, is to codify approximately, yet as close as possible, America's policy on the borders, refugees and Jerusalem. For instance a policy that says it is Americas policy going foward that it will be deemed reasonable and anticipated that Israel will retain "about 8% "of the territories,"plus" a security buffer of some width along the Jordan and Dead Sea.That Jerusalem will be delineated as best possible by Jewish and Palestinian neiborhoods with the respective neighborhoods being Israels Jerusalem and Palestines AL Qods, and the refugees will be settled in Palestine, with the expectation of Palestine being the demilitirized home (country) of the Palestinian people. That while the Jewish people in the territories are expected to relocate into Israel, America by its nature never believes in the theory of Jewish,Christian or Muslim free areas anywhere in the world.
