Well said Dr. Pipes, I just want to mention that Arabic language instructors of late 60's were way liberals compared to the present. Now, almost in every Arabic language teaching, you will find a tilt toward islamist ideology and how great the Shari'a law is. It's basically religious as well as political movement that wants to radicalize its followers.
