Center of the earth is in the bottomless pit of the earth, that is still roiling with molten lava. This agrees with Dr. Pipes' comment #3.

Mecca, the Center of the earth! -- All because the black meteorite that the Muslims worship in Kaabah fell from heaven to cause the continental drift milennia ago? It's no wonder that there are a number of fault lines below that region of the Middle East!!!

Meteorites contain a lot of iron ore and ores of other minerals. Could that be the reason for Mecca's alignment to the magnetic north?

That stone was worshipped by pagans before prophet Mohammed captured Mecca and the site of pagan worship. He was eventually driven out by the Meccans and had to take refuge in Medina.
