Stopping the Intifada is not enoughReader comment on item: Reading Sharon's Mind Submitted by Michael Elvin (United States), Dec 23, 2003 at 20:21 Reading Sharon's mind does not constitute much of an indomitable task. It is to move the goalposts whenever he gets compliance. Should he ask for a cease fire and actually get it, he will demand that all the militant organizations resisting Israeli dominance disband. And should he by any chance get that, he would then demand that all the leaders of each organization present themselves for arrest. Should that unlikely event be achieved, he would then have to tell every Palestinian where, and how, he should live. There is no end to these demands; they forestall any need for reciprocating action. But now that we have such a lull in the resistance, it will be interesting to see what justifications are offered next for the continuing oppression.
