Eurabia?Reader comment on item: Europe or Eurabia? Submitted by L B Sokolic (European Union), Apr 15, 2008 at 09:43 As an American long resident in Europe I can say that the problem rests with Europe's elites: political, economic, and cognitive. I think it is difficult for Americans to understand what Europe is really like. The Elites here know who the enemy is: the ordinary person, and the whole of Europe ruling structures, especially the EU, are built on protecting the elites from the ordinary person. To get some idea of what Europe's elites are like, imagine left-wing American academia in the same ruling and power position as the elites of Europe, and you will get the message. Me, I opt for option number 1 because integration of Muslims won't happen. Option number won't happen because the elites will suppress it by any means necessary, including violence. After all, the momentum in europe is away from democracy. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
