Not the apocalyse yetReader comment on item: The Clash to End All Clashes? Submitted by Bomo Albert-Oguara (Nigeria), Apr 9, 2008 at 08:08 This article is a comment to Christian's( Australian) response to Carl and AG on "the clash to end all clashes"'. I do agree implicitly with Christian submission, there are persons on the lunatic fringe of all religions. Just as there are muslim radicals, so do we have christian fundamentals. Both ideologies have more harm to the faiths as they have to the larger world. Is there peace between the sunni majority and the shia minority? Is there peace between the protestant faith and its catholic counterpart in Northern Ireland? Here in Nigeria muslims and christians have had their fair share of differences, some cataclysmic. But both faiths have learnt to live side by side knowing that the Creator who put them together, did so for a purpose, a purpose unfathomable to both. I do wonder why God in his infinite wisdom did not kill off Haggar's seed (Isheamel), having promised Abraham's seed the covenant. God would not have allowed her seed to propagate if He did not someother scheme in mind The world is built on the concept of dualism;right/wrong, good/bad . The lesson for all time for all societies of the world is for us all to come to terms with our shared common destiny, seeking and working to ac comodate one anothers mutual assured differences.muslim on muslim killings in Irag gives the lie to the notion that the clash between christianity and Islam is the FINAL CLASH. I beg to differ. The issues of hunger, want ,disease and poverty know no boundaries. They plague islam and christendom alike. What mankind needs right now are leaders on both sides of the divide who will offer genuine hope for the future and the present bellicosity we see and hear issuing forth from the capitals of Washington and Iran are certainly nothing to cheer about . It fills one with a foreboding of the apocalyse prophesied by Apostle John in Revelations. May God save us from zealotry of all kinds.
