The OIC Summit, just concluded in Dakar, SenegalReader comment on item: The Organization of the Islamic Conference Gets Feisty Submitted by Dr. Steve Carol (United States), Mar 22, 2008 at 19:38 Dear Dr. Pipes: Thank you as usual for your most informative #845 Weblog entries. I have tried searching for the answer to the following question with regard to the just completed summit of the OIC in Dakar Senegal. In light of Kosovo's recent independence, and recognition by the U.S., and many -- though not all -- EU states, and in recognition that Kosovo's population is 90% Muslim, was Kosovo admitted to the OIC as its 58th member? This information would be most helpful as I linked Kosovo and the precent it set to the Middle East (as well as beyond) region on our radio show. The official OIC website, did not have that information as of mid-last week. Thanking you in advance for your reply, I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Dr. Steve Carol Prof. of History (retired) Associate Producer and Historian of Middle East Radio Forum www.middleeastradioforum.org Middle East Consultant - Salem Radio Network News Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
