what next?Reader comment on item: The 751 No-Go Zones of France Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Mar 14, 2008 at 14:49 Once again, Britain is showing its weakness in this era of silly and unnecessary political correctness, by giving in to these groups of people (who are they?) who would be offended by military uniforms. How absurd and ridiculous. I am ashamed of the UK and don't wonder why Prince Harry said he didn't particularly like Britain and didn't want to have to go back there. Living overseas for many years in military dictatorships allowed me to become used to various military uniforms and exposed weapons. I did not feel offense at the uniforms worn by the Egyptian military who were protecting my daughters' school. A country's freedom for it's military and other sectors to wear uniforms, should not be deterred by bullies of any kind, and to me this sounds like some minority's whines and moans to gain power, to overrun lawful existence and to generally cause disruption. Chalk up another one for irritating and stupid political correctness. The next thing we will hear is that the uniforms of police, fire fighters, nurses, and airline pilots "offend" certain people. Where will it all end? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
